The Village Cooperative Learning Center arose from our family’s search for a welcoming local homeschool village. After actively participating in different homeschool co-ops, we experienced firsthand the incredible power of parent-led cooperative learning. A vision took hold: my husband and I wanted to combine our strengths to build a flexible homeschool learning center in our community—a place dedicated to rigorous, learner-centered academics and robust homeschool programming.
We dreamt of a beautiful, dedicated building used exclusively for cooperative homeschool learning. We wanted to create a relaxed, secure "home base" that families could look forward to returning to year after year throughout their child’s academic journey, ending the cycle of bouncing between temporary buildings or aging out of programs.
Filled with warm natural light and flexible seating—ranging from traditional tables to cozy couches and bean bags—our physical learning environment is custom-designed to support different learning styles and individualized group instruction.

At the Village Cooperative Learning Center, join a homeschool co-op that goes beyond socialization and some fun extracurriculars and enter a structured learning program designed by a NYS Certified Special Education Teacher for optimal student success.
Parent-Chosen Classes: As a parent learning cooperative, classes are chosen by our parents based on their learner’s needs or interests.
Core Class Support: At least one of the class options per quarter will be a core class so that busy homeschool parents can have one less box to check off. As a homeschool family teaching and reporting for two different aged learners, we understand how fundamental of a help it is to take some required subjects off your home instruction plate while also keeping learning fun.

Everything about The Village Learning Center, from the building set-up to the program set-up, is designed to be refreshing for both students and parents.
The Parent Break Room: Designed to have a large parent break room with both a quiet work area for working on homeschool lessons or remote work AND a social coffee/tea bar area to create an opportunity for parent socialization as well.
Volunteer Rotation: The program design will incorporate a weekly parent volunteer rotation in which parents will volunteer in a preferred capacity for part of the program time and also be ensured break times. We have found that this allows for all parents to feel the support of their village and not have too much of a weight on any family.
Community Connection: Last but certainly not least, The Village Learning Center aims to refresh families by creating opportunities to strengthen our community feel by providing family fun nights and parent training.

The Village Learning Center’s primary focus is to create a place for homeschool families to feel belonging and support.
Two Days a Week: Our programs are two days a week to strengthen the community created by seeing people more than once per week.
School Spirit: There is a unifying school mascot, school spirit activity days plans, and an end of the year yearbook. Students will also have the option to participate in a science fair, art showcase, and maker’s market.
Community Service: Students will also have opportunities to work on service-learning projects that will extend beyond our homeschool village to also be a light to our surrounding community.
